August 2013

Allisonville Chiropractic is Growing!

Welcome Kerrie Davis, FNP-BC!!!

We are expanding to offer better care to our patients!  We are pleased to announce that we now have a nurse practitioner on staff.

She will be assisting the doctors with a variety of conditions and expanding the services offered in the office.  Kerrie earned her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Indiana University School of Nursing and a Masters in Nursing from Ball State.  She is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner.  She is currently enrolled in Functional Medicine University-Southern California University of Health Sciences, where she will earn a Certification in Functional Medicine in the Spring of 2014.

Her desire as a practitioner is to be a vessel to deliver overall health and wellness to your family (birth to adult) with a different approach than the "American Social Norm."  She believes that practicing medicine is not just putting a band-aid over a problem but preventing the problem in the first place by achieving individualized wellness in an integrated approach.  "Each individual is unique, and therefore we all require different modalities to achieve overall health and wellness."

Services offered will be:

Pain Management

Well Child Checks (starting with infants).  Vaccines will Not be offered here at this clinic.  Information will be available on locations for those services.

Women's Health

Sports Physicals

Sick Visits (infants-adults)

Annual check-ups (infants-adults)

Myofascial Remedies

What is Myofascial Pain Syndrome?  It is a chronic pain disorder that typically occurs after repetitive contraction of a muscle.  This may be caused by repetitive motions used in jobs or hobbies or by stress-related muscle tension.

It affects the muscles and the sheath of the tissue--called the fascia--that surround the muscles.  The most notable feature is the presence of trigger points.  Trigger points are highly sensitive areas within the muscle that are painful to touch and cause pain that can be felt in another area of the body, called referred pain.

If you are suffering from this, let us help treat the trigger points and help relieve the pain.
